Parents love the swivel feature of the Evenflo Gold Revolve 360 car seat. It makes it so much easier to get a child in and out and ensure they are safely strapped in.

However, here are two things to consider: choose the Quick Clean cover and contemplate if the Sensorsafe feature is needed.

Will this still be a great car seat to recommend?

Let's find out.

The Evenflo Gold Revolve 360 is enormous and would take up a lot of room. It's 19.8 inches wide, 25.9 inches in height, and 21 inches long, so it's not one of those car seats that would fit easily into all vehicles or seating positions.

Utilizing the Sure360™ Safety Installation System in the Evenflo Gold Revolve 360 means you only have to install it once, simplifying the process. This system incorporates the LockStrong™ bar to firmly secure the car seat base by pulling it down and the Tether360™ to maintain a secure and stable position within the vehicle.

Many parents recommend using the vehicle's seat belt initially to avoid the hassle of repeated uninstallation and installation, especially as LATCH installations often have weight limits. Additionally, using the vehicle seat belt from the start is effortless.

Some parents have reported a common concern regarding the Evenflo Gold Revolve 360, noting that the main car seat may feel insecure and unsafe for their child post-installation. This issue is often traced back to two potential factors: forgetting to properly lock the seatbelt or encountering interference from the seatbelt flap with the LockStrong™ bar. Addressing the latter concern involves adjusting the base side to side to ensure the seatbelt flap is moved out of the way before engaging and locking the LockStrong™ bar, effectively resolving the problem.

When checking to see if your car seat is installed correctly, it's important to remember that testing should only be done on the belt path. Testing from any other part of the seat won't give an accurate indication and may result in excessive movement. Any wobbling at the top doesn't necessarily mean it's not correctly installed. Watch for no more than 1 inch of movement on the belt path.

The Evenflo Gold Revolve 360 car seat undergoes rigorous testing, including side-impact, temperature, rollover, and structural integrity assessments, with energy levels approximately twice that of the federal crash test standard.

The Evenflo Gold Revolve 360 provides an optional Sensorsafe system, and the model equipped with Sensorsafe is known as the "Gold Revolve Extend." You can easily recognize the Sensorsafe version by the "Sensorsafe" label on the 5-point harness chest clip.

The Sensorsafe system offers real-time alerts for four potential safety concerns related to your child's car seat: unexpected chest clip unbuckling, the temperature being too hot or cold, the child being unattended, and extended seating time.

It's worth noting, however, that the Sensorsafe feature has received mixed reviews. Some users have found it less practical due to concerns about false alarms, such as incorrectly signaling that a child is left in the car. The accompanying Sensorsafe app is criticized for occasional bugs and inaccurate temperature alerts. While the concept of the Sensorsafe system is intriguing, it may require refinement to enhance user-friendliness.

The earlier models of the Evenflo 360 car seat were unsuitable for air travel. However, this limitation has been addressed in the latest models, which are now approved for airline use. The FAA approval for these updated versions can be verified directly on the seat, providing a viable option for parents who wish to travel with their car seat.

The Evenflo Gold Revolve 360 car seat has some severe strap flaws. They are easily tangled, and the buckles at the bottom are large, hard plastic pieces that can dig into a baby's legs. Moreover, the straps don't extend far enough to adjust, which can cause discomfort for children with chubby legs. Changing the position of the straps between the child's legs can resolve issues like this.

The straps can be flimsy and require much work to adjust - especially when your child is wearing a heavy jacket. Furthermore, the straps can be awkward to put around the child and snap-in, as there isn't access to one in the back to help pull them into position.

Following the initial release of the basic Evenflo Gold Revolve 360, which lacked zippered seat covers for easy removal, Evenflo has made enhancements to the seat covers by incorporating zippers, making them easy to remove for washing. This improved version with the "Quick Clean Cover" feature is named the Revolve Extend. It's essential to remember this to avoid any difficulties when removing and reinstalling the seat covers.

Here are the names to help you remember:

The standout feature of the Evenflo 360 is its remarkable ability to rotate a full 360 degrees, even when in forward-facing mode.

Unlike other rotating car seats such as Graco Turn2me, Cybex Sirona S, and Baby Jogger City Turn car seat models, the Evenflo 360 can still turn in the forward-facing mode. That is because you attach the tether to the base of the Evenflo 360, whereas for the three other rotating seats, their tethers should be attached to the seat themselves. This will prevent these seats from turning.

Some parents would say that the handle for the headrest rattles so much it's almost unbearable. Evenflo says this is normal because of the adjustable headrest feature, but it can still be a significant annoyance.

This car seat is excellent for rear-facing, offering a comfortable recliner-style seating position. However, when it comes to forward-facing, the upright sitting position may not be ideal for sleeping toddlers, as their heads can flop forward if the seat cannot be reclined further.

My Final Verdict

Installing the Evenflo Gold Revolve 360 car seat base is relatively straightforward, especially when using the seatbelt method. Using this installation approach from the outset is recommended to prevent any inconveniences.

Some parents have reported issues with the seat not rotating fully and getting stuck after installation. This occurs because you need to recline the seat all the way down for a complete 360-degree rotation. If you recline it only halfway, you'll achieve a partial rotation. To address a "stuck" seat, parents have found success by reclining the seat to its most reclined position and then adjusting the lever behind the headrest, ensuring it's in the infant position. This allows for the seat to rotate smoothly.

While the car seat offers safety advantages, parents should be aware of potential drawbacks, particularly concerning the straps, when considering a purchase, especially if opting for the Sensorsafe version.

Considering that the "Revolve Extend" variant combines all the desirable features, including extended rear-facing up to 50 pounds, the leg rest for added comfort, and the Quick Clean cover, I genuinely believe this variant offers a complete solution, eliminating inconveniences.
