Opting for the the Maxi Cosi Pria Max 3 in 1 can be tricky. When installing the seat using the LATCH, it is important to take the very end of the lower latch belt (the one you are pulling to tighten it) and route it through the same path back from right to left, then pull it through the opening below the lower cushion.

Unfortunately, this step is not always explained in detail in videos, so many parents find themselves struggling with installation until they read plenty of reviews and comments on video installations.

Some find it easy to install when you have it set to recline “1” for rear facing, or “3” for forward facing.

Ensuring the Maxi Cosi Pria Max 3 in 1 is level parallel to the ground using a “line indicator” (not a bubble level) can be difficult. It may help to place a rolled towel under one end of the base as suggested in the manual as this could make installation easier and smoother.

The Pria 3 in 1 Max car seat is padded for comfort and looks great. Unfortunately, the head support pillow can easily slip out of position.

If you find that your cover has been damaged, Maxi Cosi can send you a replacement cover.

The Maxi Cosi Pria Max 3 in 1 all in one car seat is not meant to be reclined when forward facing, something that some parents wish can be improved.

My Final Verdict

Attempting to install the Maxi Cosi Pria 3 in 1 Max car seat can be challenging and, for some parents, many failed installation attempts lead to a feeling of giving up.

Additionally, adjusting the recline settings once installed may be difficult and the seat may not lay back as expected in rear-facing mode.

The back of the Maxi Cosi Pria Max 3 in 1 car seat, just like its predecessors, is entirely open exposing all the belts and mechanisms. Though this may be a useful feature for those needing to access the internal components, it does give off an inexpensive aesthetic.

Ultimately, the new Maxi Cosi Pria 3 in 1 Max does not seem to match up to the performance of the older models.
