When getting the Graco Comfy Cruiser Click Connect Travel System, you are obliged to use what comes with the combo – a Graco Snugride Click Connect 30 infant seat, its base, and The Graco Comfy Cruiser Car Seat Stroller.

In my separate review of the Graco Click Connect 30, there are are several issues that stood out.

First, the infant seat is not easy to release from the car seat base.

Also, this combo seems to come with the Graco Click Connect 30 models which have the strap adjustment adjustable ONLY from the back of the infant seat. There are already “front-adjust” options for the Click Connect 30 nowadays – the colors Kyte, Finch, and Bear Trail.

With the infant seat issue out of the way (for now), let’s read to see if the Comfy Cruiser stroller is any good.

The Stroller Seat

Behind the stroller seat, there is a strap that you can pull to recline the seat.

The stroller seat’s recline is not very deep. It can only be between all the way up or all the way down.

If you view it from the side, the “multi-recline” seems to play around 45 degrees to 80 degrees only.

With this, it’s only good to use the stroller seat once your child has gained a proper head and neck control. Younger babies and infants should stay in their car seat or another stroller that can recline FLAT.

This stroller can grow with your child until they reach 50 pounds.

The Restraint System

The stroller seat’s harness system can be converted from a five-point harness to a three-point setting. It’s always a better idea to utilize the former setting. While the 3-point option is okay, you’ll never know when you’ll accidentally hit a bump that could make the stroller knock over.

One-Hand Open/Fold Mechanism

While it is advertised as a one-hand open mechanism, it’s ideal to use both hands to help it open.

On the center of the handlebar, there is a knob (protruded thing) that you have to rotate away from you.

To release the stroller with two hands, rotate the knob and hold on to the child’s tray and push it.

To open it with one hand, upon rotating the knob, lift the stroller so it doesn’t touch the ground and wiggle it to open. In the end, you’ll still need to use your other hand to push the child tray away from you to help the stroller completely open up.

Can It Stand Upright Alone?

As promised, you can trust that this stroller does stand up on its own when folded. To be safe, make sure to engage both of the rear brakes.

The Storage Area

This is probably the best thing about the Comfy Cruiser stroller. Its basket is HUGE and DEEP. You can put your diaper bag in it along with some other essentials you can think of.

Stroller Handle

The stroller handle is 15.75 inches wide. It is the single, enclosed, curved type and padded enough for comfort and easy handling.

The Parent Tray

The parent tray is located in the handlebar area. It has storage for your keys and two deep cup holders for your drinks.

Child’s Tray

The child tray can be used for your child’s snack or toys. It can also accommodate a sippy cup or milk bottle for your toddler.

With a car seat in the stroller, the child tray serves as a barrier so that the infant car seat doesn’t fall. Make sure to completely keep the child tray in place when there is a car seat in the stroller.

The Footrest/Leg Rest

On the lower part of the stroller frame, there is a curved plastic that serves as a place for your toddler’s feet.

Its height is not adjustable. As your toddler’s legs get longer, you might have to remove the snack tray so as to give more room for comfort.

The Canopy

The stroller canopy has a flap on top that you can open and close to reveal or hide the plastic peekaboo window.

The stroller canopy extends way past 90 degrees if you view it from the sides.

You can make the stroller canopy and the car seat canopy meet in the middle. You won’t get a full coverage. It’s better that way since you’ll need ventilation. The peekaboo window of the stroller is made of plastic and the car seat canopy doesn’t have a mesh netting peekaboo window.

The Wheels

The stroller has four wheels. The front ones can be locked for a more steady strolling. However, if you expect to be dealing with curves, leave them unlocked so that they swivel for easy maneuvering.

Some parents can’t seem to get past the rear-wheels installation and can’t get it secure.

Note that there is a piece that will keep it in place. Best to call Graco or the seller you got it from to make sure that you have received the complete pieces.

Wheels Dimensions

Rear Wheels:

8 inches

Front Wheels:

6.625 inches

The Brake

On the rear, you’ll find two plastic brakes near the wheels. Engage both to park the stroller safely.

Two brakes are always better than just one since you’ll never know when the other one will get jammed or broken.

It is a great comfort to know that the Graco Click Connect 30 clicks safely in the stroller. Lifting the empty car seat with the stroller will even show you how well they are attached to each other.

However, the harness adjustment of the Graco Snugride 30 car seat colors (Stratus and Go Green) seem to be adjustable only from behind. With that, you can only easily strap your child in the car seat WHILE the car seat is not in the car yet.

Once you need additional adjustments on the car seat straps, you’ll have to take it out of the car seat base so as easily access the strap adjustment from behind. It’s not a very convenient process.

With regard to the Comfy Cruiser stroller, I feel that the price point is well justified. Having all the essentials you can think of, you’ll get a decent stroller for your toddler.

If you can get the Comfy Cruiser stroller and a Graco Click Connect infant car seat separately, then well and good. If you are drawn to lightweight car seats like the Graco Click Connect 30, know that it weighs the same as the Graco Click Connect 30 LX (My Review Here).

However, read again my comparison of the 5 Graco Click Connect infant car seats to see which one has the features you need.

And I highly suggest that you check out the feedbacks of the parents who got this seat to help you decide further.

  1. Hey Pitin, great review! I bought my car seat from Graco and it can support all the way to 7 years of age. However, after much consideration, we didn’t get the Graco travel system. The travel system is convenient but only up to 9-12 months. Once the baby outgrows the infant seat, we need to get a new car seat. Anyway, it was a lot of consideration and in the end, we decided to get them separately – a Graco Car Seat that supports from infant all the way to 7 years old and a stroller (different brand) that is friendly from 0 – 3/4 years of age. Different families approach this differently, I guess.

    1. Hi Jude,

Indeed, there is no one formula when it comes to this. It’s just recommendations and in the end, whatever a parent chooses to do, there is no right or wrong. It’s always a learning process. 🙂

What you did was very practical. There are very good convertible car seats that can last even up to 10 years, and can be used until 120 pounds.

Getting a stroller separately is also a good move. In my case, I prefer to bring an umbrella stroller whenever I’m out. It’s a good place for my toddler to sleep, but also very lightweight to carry around while my little one explores walking around. 🙂

Thanks for sharing your thoughts. 🙂

  2. Can I put a washable cover anywhere over /on this?
I would never want to drench it, but they do get kind of dirty from food and possibly liquids.

    1. Hi Sylvia,

I think yes, you can. Compared to infant car seats where you are only allowed to put “recommended” add-ons as it can jeopardize safety, I think to put a third party or even improvised cover-up for the stroller seat is not a bad idea since you cannot machine-wash the stroller seat cover.

I also just drape over a blanket over my toddler’s stroller seat to somehow protect the seat from accidental spills.

  3. Are you able to take the stroller seat cover off to wash it? I can see that with an older child, food and drink might be spilled on the seat. I would need something that is easy to clean.

    Thank you for your help!

    1. Hi Melissa,

As per Graco, the seat cover can only be spot cleaned using warm water and mild soap and never a bleach. It’s unadvisable to drench it with water, too.
