On my search for diaper bag backpacks, I came across a backpack that looks like the Jeep Backpack Diaper Bag* on Amazon. It has the roomiest space I have seen for a backpack diaper bag and so I took a closer look at what this bag has to offer.

I would like to share with you what I learned about this bag.

Storage

How much storage you need depends on every parent. Some need to pack for two kids while others only have to pack for one child. It also pays to consider if you are bottle-feeding or nursing because nursing mothers tend to carry less stuff than bottle-feeding moms.

This backpack diaper bag has 12 pockets and a huge inside compartment that can help you organize all the things you need to bring. From diapers, milk bottles, snacks, and extra clothes to your wallet, keys, and water bottles, there is more than enough storage that can make it easy for you to organize a day’s needs.

The amount of storage this bag features can house two babies’ needs for one day! You can also throw in your wallet, keys, and a small personal purse for your needs.

NOTE: If you do not consciously maintain your carefully prepared organization, all your stuff will end up a jumbled mess inside the large, main compartment of the bag.

I could have given this a higher rating if there is some more division inside the main compartment.

The insulated bottle pocket is about 7-8 inches tall. You can stack two sippy cups on top of each other or two 4-oz milk bottles. The insulated pocket will assure to keep warm milk, for example, to be held warm for a longer period compared to just putting the milk bottles in uninsulated pockets.

There is a baby wipe holder which makes it easier for you to access the wipes.

Easy of Use

While it may not be as accessible to use this bag should you quickly need to get something from the main compartment while you are carrying your baby in one hand, this backpack will allow you to be hands-free which is an important plus point.

You can use the stroller loops to hook this bag to your stroller as you stroll so that it would be easier for you to access stuff. However, if your bag is quite heavy, avoid hanging it on your stroller because this may cause your stroller to trip.

When it comes to easily find stuff inside this bag, it is good to know that the interior of the main compartment is light in color.

For stuff that you need quick access to such as your wallet or phone, put them at the front pockets. Not only will it help you locate them quickly, but it will also help you avoid digging inside the main compartment should you not be able to maintain the organization of stuff inside.

Comfort

The padded straps make it comfortable to carry and are adjustable. The padded back panel adds to the carrying comfort. The thick straps will not leave marks on your exposed skin.

Backpacks with thick straps, in general, feel lighter than a shouldered diaper bag with thin straps.

Quality

This bag has an average quality as expected from belonging to below the mid-price range. The majority of buyers’ complaints are pointing to its cheap zipper.

The best solution is to probably not overpack so as not to force the zipper to rip open. Otherwise, consider getting this bag from a seller that offers a generous and hassle-free return policy like Amazon.

Cost

The price of this bag is below the mid-price range. In general, mid-priced to higher-priced diaper bags offer better quality but then again, it depends on how you take care of your bag. Pack smartly.

Is This Product For You?

If you plan to use this diaper bag on a daily basis, be gentle with what you put inside. De-clutter your diaper bag and have a checklist of what you need to put inside to reduce the total weight you are carrying.

Conclusion

If you are looking for a diaper bag that can accommodate your baby stuff for up to two kids including your basic needs, without breaking your budget, then this diaper bag can do the job.

The designs are not too loud and if you are a daddy who doesn’t want to be seen carrying a bag that looks too much like a diaper bag, the color and the designs of the backpacks will fail not you.

It is very subtle, and the design looks like a regular backpack so it wouldn’t attract any attention. Get this bag if you don’t want to carry multiple bags when you are out with your kids.

  1. Ooh this looks great. I honestly hadn’t seen any backpack style nappy bags at all while I was pregnant. I normally prefer a backpack to a messenger style bag anyway, so this would be perfect for me. The quality looks great too.

Regarding what you said about the zipper and not over packing the bag… I’d love to take your advice, but I just can’t seem to manage NOT to over stuff my bag. Whoops.

  2. This diaper bag backpack is really nice. It’s more like a really nice piece of luggage. When my children were babies everything had characters and bright colors, I’m sure, deep inside, my husband hated carrying it around when we were out and about. This is so gender neutral. It also looks very sturdy so it will last for more than one child, unlike those old plastic models. When the grandbabies come along, we will definitely be looking at these. Thanks for a great review!

    1. Hi Diana,

The new parents nowadays are indeed very lucky. There is so much options all we have to do is to choose. And the best part is it is very affordable. 🙂

      Regards,

      Pitin

  3. I wish this backpack style bag was available when my kids were born. There was so much to carry around that we hardly left the house for a year! These look ideal for dads, too, as many of the baby bags are aimed at women. My other half was house husband when the kids were little and it seems that manufacturers are only jsut catching on to the fact that many mums work and its hand-on dads who need to carry the diaper bag.

    1. Hi Sarah,

After I had given birth, I was too lazy to leave the house as well for almost four months. I thought the same thing – there is too much to carry, save myself the hassle. But when my daughter started to show interest in people, I felt guilty of not bringing her out much so I began researching about how to pack the diaper bag and what bag should I get. It turns out that it is perfectly reasonable for first-time parents to overpack, lol. Now, I can go out of the house alone with my toddler, a diaper bag backpack, and a lightweight stroller. 🙂

      Regards,

      Pitin

  4. Great deal for a parent having to carry many things for their child. I also carry sling bags for my nephew, but I guess a backpack would be better to carry for a father than a sling bag. So, I like this kinds of bags. It also has many compartments to segregate items for your child.

    1. I agree on that Paul. You need all the segretation you need when you are carrying baby stuff. It can get very messy if you don’t have different pockets.

  5. Hello Pitin, this bag will surely come in handy with parents that loves to take a stroll every now and then with their kids. I totally agree that it would be much better if there are much more divisions inside that huge pack especially for a soon to be parent like me who doesn’t have a clue on how to stack up stuff for my baby in an organized manner. It would surely end up in a mess.

The zipper problem is one of the most common problem I and I bet most of us encounter when it comes to bags like this. The division is not really much of a problem but the zipper is really a hassle when it got broken. It would be great if you can find something that can totally match with this bag but with a durable zipper.

Anyway, very nice review. Looking forward for more especially when I’m already a father. 😀

    Best of luck,
    -Norz

    1. Hi Norz,

I have a better recommendation since you only will be packing for one child I assume? Or are you having twins? 🙂 If you are only packing for one child, you can check The Skip Hop Duo (Please read my review here). It comes in different styles and colors, and I think most daddies like you might prefer the black one. 🙂

      Cheers!

  6. This is a nice looking diaper bag; I like this subtle, versatile androgynous style much better than a bag that screams “baby!” The numerous exterior pockets are really convenient, but I agree that there should be more organization and segregation inside. Most concerning to me is the weight of the empty bag. Even though it’s padded for comfort, I imagine this bag would be quite heavy when packed with supplies.

    1. Hi Laurie,

Surprisingly, my backpack that weighs 1.6 lbs when empty doesn’t feel heavy at all even if it is fully-packed. I wonder if a 0.6-lb difference is a deal breaker. I am more concerned with the quality of the zipper, though. But Amazon has a 30-day return policy. You can inspect the bag upon purchase, and if it doesn’t meet your standard, you can always return it for free. 🙂

There is a lightweight backpack I have reviewed recently. Check it out. I rated it 10/10. 🙂

      Cheers,
      Pitin
