Just like the original Graco 4Ever, the DLX Platinum version can accommodate average sized babies until they no longer need car seats to keep them safe while riding a car.
As you can see from its dimensions, it could be installed in small cars, although the space available for other passengers or other car seats you want to install might be compromised.
There is one reviewer who owns 4 Graco 4Ever car seats, including this 4ever DLX Platinum. She has an SUV with three rows of seats but had to place the DLX Platinum product behind the driver seat to use it in a fully reclined rear-facing position for an infant.

The EZ Tight LATCH is an excellent feature of the 4ever DLX Platinum. The basic and the DLX versions of Graco 4Ever only have the “InRight LATCH.”
If the InRight LATCH is preferred over the regular j-hook LATCH because they make lower anchor installation easier, the EZ Tight LATCH system present in the 4Ever DLX Platinum version takes lower anchor installation to a much higher level of ease.
The component with the grey button for automatically retracting the strap makes a lot of difference from the In Right LATCH system.
However, just like in any lower anchor installations, you have to make sure that your child’s weight is still within the lower anchor weight limit of the car seat for its safety features to remain at work.
Graco 4Ever DLX Platinum’s lower anchor weight limit is 45 pounds. Once the child reaches this limit, you need to change its installation to vehicle seatbelt.
Another trait that DLX Platinum inherited from basic 4Ever and 4Ever DLX is its 6-position recline. The adjuster is intuitive to use.
How To Install The Graco 4ever DLX Platinum Rear-Facing Using The LATCH
Make sure that the harness straps are at or below the top of the child’s shoulders.
Make sure that the top tether is stored away. Take the EZ Tight LATCH out from its storage place. Check if the latch strap is placed in the correct labeled path.
Work on the recline handle to set up the right recline angle before placing the car seat in the location you could safely install it. This location must allow the DLX Platinum to sit flatly with at least 80% of its base firmly in contact with the vehicle seat.
Look at the level indicator to see if the bubble is within the blue zone.
Make sure that the car is parked on level ground.
Press and hold the EZ Tight LATCH’s blue release button to extend the strap. When you connect the LATCH to the lower anchor connector of the vehicle, ensure that the belt is not twisted. Otherwise, you cannot tighten it.
Pull all the slack to the retractor side and then activate the retractor slide. Tighten the LATCH by pushing down on the center of the car seat as you can see in this video.
How To Install The Graco 4ever DLX Platinum Rear-Facing Using The Seat Belt
Once the proper recline position is set up, work on threading the vehicle seatbelt in the rear-facing belt path (blue labeled). You may lift the seat pad to expose the belt path.
The seat belt must be flat and not twisted. Lock and tighten the seat belt accordingly.
Just like the Graco 4ever DLX version, the DLX Platinum has also an integrated belt lock-off for easy seat belt installation.
How To Install The Graco 4ever DLX Platinum Forward-Facing Using The LATCH
The installation procedure is the same with rear-facing installation except that the recline position to use is Positions 4 and 5. The belt label to work with is orange instead of blue.
Take note that in tightening the EZ Tight LATCH, some vehicle seats might require more pressure than the others to get the EZ Tight LATCH to tighten.

How To Install The Graco 4ever DLX Platinum Forward-Facing Using The Seat Belt (With Belt Lock-Off)
Start once again by preparing the 4Ever DLX Platinum in its appropriate recline position. The harness strap must be loosened, and the headrest should be at its highest position.
Unbuckle the chest clip and the buckle.
Open the belt lock off and thread the vehicle seatbelt in the orange labeled belt path. The seatbelt must be flat and untwisted.
Once the seat belt is tight enough, close and lock the lock-off. Replace the seat cover and move back the headrest to its proper position. You may also install this seat even without the belt lock-off.
In the manual, you can read among the initial warnings that aftermarket accessories that are not provided by Graco must not be used with this product except for thin towels/mats for vehicle seat protection and rolled towels or pool noodles for achieving proper recline level.
Therefore, rolled towels and pool noodles may be used, although the installation procedure and reviews do not mention this.
It is also great how another reviewer recorded the time it took for the car seat to be installed. She said that it only took 10 minutes for this nice and solid car seat to be installed.

It features plush quilted head and body supports. The fabric of this product is said to be luxurious and supportive.
With the Rapid Remove cover, the seat cover can be taken out quickly for washing so parents are happy with it considering how babies can be prone to various mishaps.
However, one parent claimed that the cup holders do not stay well in place so it can pose some inconveniences.
The Graco 4ever DLX Platinum is said to be the most reliable and most desirable among the three Graco 4evers (the classic 4ever, 4ever DLX and 4ever DLX Platinum).
