There’s nothing fancy about the Evenflo Sureride DLX Car Seat. Except that it is highly affordable, lightweight and comes in cute designs, this car seat is a pretty much basic seat.
Let me share with you what I found out about this seat.
|Rear-Facing Weight:||5 to 40 pounds|
|Rear-Facing Height:||19 to 40 inches|
|Forward-Facing Weight:||22 to 65 pounds|
|Recommended Height:||28 to 54 inches|
Because of having a minimum height requirement of 19 inches, the SureRide DLX is not suitable for newborns and young babies who have yet to meet the minimum height requirement of the seat.

Will It Fit In My Car?
This seat is quite compact and narrow. However, its height, when the seat is reclined, can take up the legroom of the passenger seat, especially in a small vehicle.

We all know that installing a car seat is one the most important things when it comes to the safety of our kids. This seat has no leveling apparatus to help parents gauge if the install is at the correct angle.
Also, whether using the LATCH or the seat belt, it seems that tightening the install is most complained by parents who bought it.
There is a little confusion with the LATCH strap when switching the installation from forward-facing to rear-facing mode and vice versa.
Here’s a helpful video demonstrating how to do it. Sometimes, you have to remove the entire cover to switch the straps to the rear-facing position, while some parents manage to do it without entirely removing the seat cover.

The comfort of the passenger is equally important. A comfortable passenger would mean a fuss-free travel. But the seat seems to not have enough padding. And when it’s hot outside, the seat tends to make the passenger sweat a lot, too.
The Weight – this is probably one of the selling points of this seat in my opinion. If you are looking for a temporary seat that you need to carry somewhere without the pain of carrying it, 9.7 pounds is relatively lighter than most convertible car seats.
It is nice and roomy inside. It has enough space for kids who are on the chubby side.
Lastly, although not highly relevant, it is good to know that the seat still looks good given the price point and materials used.
Given the lack of information (in the manual) on how to safely install it in the rear-facing mode, as well as the absence of the leveling apparatus, I feel that it would be risky to use this for your infant in the rear-facing mode. Unless you get an expert in car seat installation, I would think again before using this seat for a vulnerable newborn and younger babies. Also, it doesn’t come with multiple recline options if your young baby cannot support their neck yet.
It’s quite a high seat – 26.5 inches. In the rear-facing position, it will definitely take up a lot of space especially if you are reclining it a lot. A problem you can expect if your car is small.
If you don’t plan to use it rear-facing, it’s a good buy. For less than a hundred dollars, the 65 pounds/54 inches limit for forward-facing is easily justified. It’s not something that your child will outgrow very fast.
However, don’t expect anything fancy. It’s a nice FORWARD-FACING car seat for the price, but if you can afford it, consider another seat if you want an improvement in functionality.
