Are you trying to decide between The Evenflo Everystage DLX Vs Safety 1st Grow And Go? If this were up to me, then I would probably choose the first seat. Read on why.
Evenflo Everystage DLX | Safety 1st Grow and Go
Rear-Facing Weight: | 4 to 50 pounds | 5 to 40 pounds |
Rear-Facing Height Limit: | 17 to 43 inches | 19 to 40 inches |
Forward-Facing Weight: | 22 to 65 pounds
Forward-Facing Height Limit: | 28 to 50 inches | 29 to 49 inches |
High Back Booster Weight Limit: | 40 to 120 pounds | 40 to 100 pounds |
High Back Booster Height Limit: | 44 to 57 inches | 42 to 52 inches |
- Rear-Facing
The Everystage DLX has higher weight and height limits, which means that parents can keep using it for longer on their children who are taller or heavier.
The Safety First Grow and Go seat has an infant slot that fits newborns better than the Everystage DLX. However, it's hard to find out if they're going to be able fit your child as well because most reviewers were only testing average-sized babies weighing 7 pounds.
- Forward-Facing
The forward-facing of these 2 car seats are almost the same, with just one inch less for the minimum height limit, and 1 inch more for the maximum height limit for Everystage DLX.
- Booster Mode
The Safety 1st car seat is not as great when it comes to booster mode, in comparison with Evenflo DLX. Children may outgrow its high-back booster before they're set for a backless one.

Width | 19 inches | |
Height | 26.5 inches | 24 inches |
Depth/Length | 22 inches | 23.75 inches |
One thing that parents need to pay attention to is the height of this car seat. In a vehicle with multiple rows of seats, installing the Everystage DLX on an upper row or one towards the front, would block part of what was going by outside.
Some parents say that Grow and Go takes up a lot of space when it is reclined in rear-facing. For example, one parent said they installed the seat with position 2 recline, but their front passenger/driver legroom was compromised by this installation choice.

- Installation
The Safety 1st grow and go offers color coding on its instruction manual in order to provide accurate installation guidelines for installation.
Evenflo's website is full of user manuals, but if you're looking for a visual demo instead, make sure to book an appointment on their site.
- Recline
The Everystage DLX is way easier to install both in rear-facing and forward-facing mode.
Everystage DLX has more recline position (5 vs 3). The reclining angle of the Everystage DLX harness is designed to automatically correct itself at an appropriate incline for newborn infants. However, in that position, it often catches on the fabric of the headrest so some parents have had issues adjusting their seat when they need one car seat for more than one child.
There are markings outside the Everystage DLX’s base that indicate recline positions depending on whether you're rear-facing or forward-facing, and a bubble indicator that lets you know if your baby's properly positioned no matter what type of seating mode you use!
The Grow and Go has 3 recline positions. Remember to adjust it when your infant is still developing neck control because he or she will need help sitting up. Older infants can use position 2 or 3, which are for older babies.
