While the Graco 4ever Extend2fit Car Seat seems to be highly improved and promising, it seems that there are better options.
Learn what and why.

Extended rear-facing capacity is one of the major selling points of the Graco 4ever Extend2fit. Not many convertible car seats can afford to have a child seated rear-facing this long.
The presence of the extendable footrest also gives an additional legroom to your rear-facing passenger.
On the downside, this 4-position extension panel will surely eat up space and will need you to move the seat opposite it all the way to the front.
If your vehicle’s interior is the larger side, it wouldn’t be an issue.
Will It Fit In My Car?
Although it’s not the most compact car seat available, it is also not the bulkiest. One thing is sure, you’ll need extra space to accommodate this seat in your car, especially with the presence of the extendable footrest.

One of the good sides in installing the Graco 4ever Extend2fit using the LATCH is its “EZ tight” feature. Once you have clicked on the LATCH connectors to your car’s Isofix, all you have to do is activate the retractor.
You can do it by pushing and sliding the button found on the LATCH strap. After which, you need to push on the seat. You will hear a “retracting” sound. Push until you no longer hear the sound. No more clicking means it’s properly tightened.
As a good practice, try to move the seat front to back and side to side using your less dominant hand. It shouldn’t move more than an inch.
You’ll need some time installing it using the seat belt. You can either use just the seat belt or the car seat’s belt lock-off with the seat belt.

The Graco 4ever Extend2fit has a steel-reinforced frame and provides a good protection from all angles. It even passed with flying colors in car crash tests.
Tightening the seat harness is also easy to do as the adjustment can be found in front and is easily accessible.

The seat seems to be well-padded and comfortable but there is one color that some parents regard to as not breathable – the Clove color.
Some parents say that the Clove fabric is a little sensitive, too – especially the front where the baby’s feet rubs. The Clove color, although machine-washable, also seems to be needing an extra care when washing.
The seat can be reclined into 6 positions. Positions 1-4 can be used for rear-facing while positions 5 to 6 is only for the forward-facing mode.
Despite the generous amount of recline, it doesn’t seem to be enough for some parents.
Although highly comfortable in the rear-facing mode, the position 5th and 6th, when used in the forward-facing mode, seem to be too upright to be comfortable.
Another common complaint is the rattling sound coming from the 10-position headrest – although it seems to be only making noise when the baby is not in the seat.
Also, make sure to attach the two cupholders properly so they don’t easily fall down. And if your child is using a bottle that has the same size as a Contigo Kids Autospout Gizmo Water Bottle, it will not fit.
Name of the Product: Graco 4Ever Extend2Fit 4-in-1 Convertible Car Seat
Cheapest Place To Buy
For the price point, the Graco 4ever Extend2fit has the following main advantages.
- You can use it from day 1 of your child until they no longer need a car seat.
- You can have your child seated rear-facing for as long as possible.
- The extendable footrest provides an extra legroom for your rear-facing passenger.
- The LATCH installation is a winner.
- It has a steel-reinforced frame and has very good safety ratings.
- You just have to move the headrest up and down to adjust the seat harness as your child grows. No manual rethreading needed.
- It has a generous expiration date of 10 years.
- It has 2 cup holders.
On the downside, you have to take note of the following.
- Make sure it fits comfortably inside your vehicle. Consider the space left for the seat opposite it, especially when the extendable footrest is fully extended (+ 5 inches).
- Seat belt installation will need some time and patience.
- The Clove fabric is not a good choice.
- It’s not the lightest seat to lug around should you need to air travel with it.
One of the main reasons why I’d probably consider the Graco 4ever Extend2fit is its promise to have my child seated rear-facing for as long as possible. However, its size can be an issue for parents with smaller vehicles.
The Diono Radian RXT and the R120 have good reputations when it comes to being able to fit nicely inside the car, not to mention that prior to Graco 4ever Extend2fit’s creation, these Diono Radians are the seats that parents go to for the main purpose of extended rear-facing capability.
Otherwise, the older Graco 4ever model seems to be better than the Graco 4ever Extend2fit.
I highly suggest that you, too, check out the feedbacks of parents who got this seat to help you further.
